Cromadex and Lead-Free Paint
In response to the growing concern of the use of lead chromate pigments in coatings, all Cromadex paints and associated products will be free of these substances from April 1st 2008.
Lead chromates are primarily used in topcoat paints, especially the stronger, brighter colours such as reds, oranges, yellows and greens. They may also be added to primer paints to provide colouring.
Cromadex have offered lead-free alternatives for its paint finishes for many years and, based on this experience, are now in a position to offer a complete lead-free range for all of its current product range. This will mean that any product ordered from Cromadex after 1st April 2008 will be either the existing lead-free system or a lead-free alternative for the finish you are currently using.
It is the policy of Akzo Nobel that no lead containing pigments are to be used in the supply of Cromadex products in any of its locations worldwide.
