Sunray is the first steel door manufacturer in the UK to achieve the accolade of an ‘Approved Applicator’ for AkzoNobel, the largest paint manufacturer in the world. Sunray has been approved to apply AkzoNobel’s anti-corrosion system ‘Interpon® PZ’.
With this new approved status, Sunray, who design and manufacture high specification steel industrial and security doors, can now provide its customers with the reassurance of a certified coated finish. AkzoNobel is recognized by architects worldwide for the quality and durability of its products, particularly the Interpon® PZ System.
Sunray has achieved this new standard as a result of extensive capital investment in a pre-treatment plant and a custom built powder coating facility incorporating the latest Tribomatic® powder application systems.
The approval process, which included extensive sampling and testing, was completed over a 12 month period. Sunray was also required to undertake continuous quality audits on its standards processes and procedures, as part of the stringent vetting by AkzoNobel.
Moving forward, Sunray will be required to undertake periodic audits to ensure the high standards required of an Approved Applicator are maintained.
Arthur Moseley, AkzoNobel Powder Coatings Marketing Manager commented, “The quality of the operation is a credit to the entire team at Sunray. We are delighted to welcome them to our network of Approved Applicators”.
