Research in these key areas of technology leads to core strengths, which can be tailored into the specific products, which our customers use to operate their processes efficiently as well as achieve the desired in-service performance.

  

Behind the Interpon name lies our strengths in polymer technology and in corrosion and surface science. Added to that is patented Particle Management technology which is so crucial to the powder coating application process. Novel manufacturing process technologies complete a package of unique capabilities, which differentiate Interpon powders from those of our competitors.

 

In House Polymers

 

Six in-house plants around the world satisfy a high proportion of our polymer needs. At the same time central polymer research supplies a constant stream of innovative materials to formulating chemists in powder laboratories throughout the world. Super- and Ultra-durable polymers have set new powder coating performance standards in exterior durable applications in Interpon D525, Interpon D2000 for architecture and Interpon Autobody 5000 for automotive trim.

 

Patented Particle Management

 

This unique technology influences the fundamental behaviour of charged particles and brings about improved control of the powder application process. Domestic Appliance customers have saved up to 20% in finishing costs by using Interpon XTR Thin Film powders. Interpon AF Advanced Fluidity powders have cut costs, boosted productivity, reduced reject rates and improved product quality and film appearance for many powder users. Interpon AC powders offer advanced penetration into deep recesses and cavities. The complete package of measures to improve the powder application process is brought together under the Interpon Extra brand.

 

Novel Powder Process Technologies

 

Our novel manufacturing technology gives unique fast response colour matching, using a colour mixing process. Until we patented the process, marketed as Interpon Express, it was thought impossible in powder. We also provide a rapid service in a range of textured and special effect finishes by means of novel mixing and blending processes.

Interpon D3000-Fluoromax is the new generation of architectural Hyper Durable powder coatings based on AkzoNobel's Fluoromax technology, which uses innovative fluorocarbon polymer chemistry.
