Policy Statement on Health, Safety, Environment and Security
Concern for health, safety and environment is an integral part of AkzoNobel's business policy.
AkzoNobel actively supports the guiding principles of the Business Charter for Sustainable Development of the International Chamber of Commerce, the Responsible Care® program of the chemical industry and the Coatings Care® program of the paint and printing ink industry.
In addition to compliance with regulatory requirements, we pursue the following objectives in close cooperation with our distributors, customers and suppliers.
Health
AkzoNobel seeks to conduct its activities in such a way as to prevent harm to and promote the health of its employees and other stakeholders.
Safety
AkzoNobel strives to prevent any injuries at work both for our own employees and our contractors.
Environment
AkzoNobel protects the environment by preventing or minimizing the environmental impact of its activities and products through appropriate design, manufacturing, distribution, use, and disposal practices.
Product Stewardship
AkzoNobel seeks to expand the concern for health, safety and environment to our suppliers and our customers through a Product Stewardship Management System.
Security
AkzoNobel supports Management Practices that help protect people, property, products, processes, information and information systems by enhancing security, throughout the industry value chain.
