Heat Resistant Powder Coatings

Committed to research and Development to offer customers a wider choice of powder coatings and recognising the increasing demands on applicators worldwide for environmental compliance, we have extended our range of powder coatings with heat resistant properties.  Interpon HT powder coatings are competitive with many established liquid coatings for even the most demanding applications where heat resistance is required.

Interpon HT powder coatings is a range developed for applications that require heat resistance properties ranging from 160o C (320oF) to the extreme high heat temperatures of 550o C (1022oF).

Typical Coatings Benefits

  • Colour stability
  • Resistance to delamination
  • Resistance to cracking
  • Resistance to corrosion

For products requiring protection in extreme conditions Interpon HT 550 powder coatings provide high heat protection and corrosion resistance before and after heat exposure at temperatures of 550o C (1022oF).

Ongoing product development is taking heat resistance of Interpon HT powder coatings to even higher temperatures than 550oC.

Recommended for use on products where protection in extreme operating conditions is required: fire surrounds, BBQs and exhaust mufflers for generators, motocycles, and tractors.

For products operating at or above 350oC (662oF) and which do not require anti-corrosion protection, the coating of choice is Interpon HT 350.

Typical end users: fire surrounds, stoves, BBQs and flues.

Refer to the high Heat Product Guide and relevant product data sheet.

Interpon HT 550 and Interpon HT 350 high Heat Powders are available in black, low-gloss, smooth and textured finishes.

Interpon HT temperature resistant powder coatings in the range 250o C (482oF) to 350o C (662oF) are formulated for substrate protection and maintenance of appearance.

At the lower end of the temperature spectrum between 120o C (248oF) to 190o C (374oF) Interpon HT technology provides improved colour stability.  White and pastel shade coatings when exposed to these elevated temperatures for extended periods benefit particularly with reduced colour drift or yellowing.

Products such as cooker panels and light fittings when coated with Interpon HT powder coatings retain their colour for longer when compared to conventional powder coatings.
