Interpon PZ formulation, patented by AkzoNobel, is based on: - zinc particles at a 50% weight content, combining dust and lamellate zinc to improve the primer conductivity ; it is important to underline that for a zinc primer the zinc content should be high enough to get the cathodic protection effect and then the zinc should be also “available” to react that means not completely bonded by the resin - an epoxy resin for its well known anticorrosive property. Both Interpon PZ 660 and PZ 770 primers are formulated on this basis.
On top of that, Interpon PZ 770 includes a specific anticorrosive function which improves the protection in case of scratch.
Both Interpon PZ show the zinc grey colour more or less dark.
Interpon PZ in a glimpse
> High anticorrosion protection especially with a grit blasting pre-treatment > A renown reliability since Interpon PZ 770 is: - certified by ACQPA, Association pour la Certification et la Qualification en Peinture Anticorrosion – N° C4A NV 572 - approved by SNCF (French railways) according to the NF F 19-478 specification > A good finish quality in comparison with the other metal zinc protections which generally present an irregular and porous surface causing coatings bubbling > An economical zinc powder primer in terms of cost per m2 due to its moderate density (2,0) > A rigorous application specification combined – depending of the country – with an approved applicators network > The possibility to apply: - a PU 2K liquid topcoat on the Interpon PZ primer by respecting a maximum application delay of 12 hours - a third antigraffiti powder layer
