The Trend Range

THE TREND RANGE

As the world’s largest coatings company, no-one has more expertise in color and color trends than Akzo Nobel.  Home to the Aesthetics Centre, our in house color and trend experts, we are ideally placed to anticipate and predict movements in the trends affecting color and hence coating choice.  We at Akzo Nobel Powder Coatings have drawn on the expertise of the Aesthetics Centre to produce this, the Powder Coatings Annual Trend Range.

Our selection is inspired by the ‘Colour Envelope #7’ - a tool which describes color trend direction.  This is an annual publication developed by the Analogue Group – an international group of designers and architects who meet annually to discuss and predict colour trends – and produced by the Aesthetics Centre.

The theme for this year’s Colour Envelope is ‘Balance’ and this is demonstrated across six moods of three opposing pairs.

  • Geometric versus Informal
  • Tales of the Unexpected versus Awareness
  • Adornment versus Without Nostalgia

The moods explained:

Geometric - graphic lines, rhythmic patterns, contours, complex but easy to visually understand, design by repetition.

Informal - relaxed, non-design, collage, design by default, unintentional, coincidence

Tales of the Unexpected – painting/drawing, the unpredictable, defying logic, value of the man made, humor, mystic

Awareness – green design, look & see, sensitive, extreme in and outdoor, comfort

Adornment – richness, luxury/human/kind, metal & shine, soft, sober, sexy

Without Nostalgia – simplicity, clarity, quiet and bright, proven colour

The color choices for our Trend Range have been influenced by these themes and also trends in Furniture design.  If you want to be at the forefront of design and lead in the surface finishing of your furniture, then our Trend Range should be your choice.

These colours are available in various qualities which conform to the Akzo Nobel Specifications for Furniture Finishing.  The Specifications have been derived from various aspects of the coatings needs of the Furniture Industry.  For further information on the Tests and Specifications employed, please consult the appropriate supporting literature or go the Products & Performance are of this site.

When placing your order, please specify performance level required - Interpon F1000 (interior product) or F1500 (exterior product).
