There is already a wide range of Special effect finishes available in powder coatings. However up to now achieving a highly reflective chrome look with a powder coating has been very difficult.

 

Now AkzoNobel is introducing the first of what will be a series of chrome silver powders

Interpon 310 Chrome Silver MW031D is the first of a new generation of metallic effect products which has been developed using a combination of novel powder formulating techniques and a new metallic bonding process.

 

Chrome Silver is intended for interior applications such as furniture, lighting and accessories where a brighter metallic finish is required.

 

And just as important it gives very good resistance to rub and an improved finger print resistance – key characteristics for good in-service performance.

 

Chrome Silver with its individual bright finish can even provide a good alternative to real chrome plating.

 

For more demanding or exterior end uses an over-coating with a clear coating is recommended. This can either be an acrylic powder – Interpon 410 or Cromadex Topcoat 800 liquid.
