Cooling
The hot Extrudate is rolled onto a flat stainless steel conveyor belt that is cooled using refrigerated water, this brings the temperature down to ambient. |

Weighing
The powder is weighed electronically. |

Sieving
To ensure no oversize particles or any contamination is in the powder coating the product is sieved. |

Micronising
The chip is fed evenly into a grinding machine that pulverises it into a particle distribution size that can be sprayed through electrostatic equipment. |

Kibbling
The cooled Extrudate is broken down to form a chip. This is to make the handling and micronisation more effective. |

Quality Control
Powder coatings must be tested to ensure thy meet the performance and quality requirements of both the customer and the end-user of the component being coated. Normally, once manufacture has been completed the powder coating can not be modified or changed in any significant way. |

Extrusion
The extrusion is a mix and melt process. The raw materials are heated to melt the resin and hardeners, a mixing process takes place to homogenise the molten raw material. |

Pre-mixing
The raw materials are thoroughly mixed using high-speed mixers. This ensures that the final product is consistent in performance appearance and quality. |

Pre-weigh
The raw materials are transported to a weighing area; here the ingredients for the powder coating are accurately weighed. Filtered air is used in the extraction to ensure worker safety and at the same time eliminating cross contamination. |

Packing
Most powder coatings are supplied in cardboard cartons with a sealed plastic liner. Powder can be supplied in bulk containers depending on customer requirements. |
