In fluidised bed applications the object to be coated is heated to a temperature above the powder's melting point and then is immersed in the coating material which is contained in a fluidised bed.
The typical immersion time is 1 - 5 seconds which allows a coating build up of between 200 - 2000 µm. Depending upon the type of material being coated and the thickness of coat applied, post curing may be required.
