New powder plant opened in Czech Republic

AkzoNobel are delighted to announce the opening of an additional Powder Coatings RSU (Rapid Service Unit) plant in Czech Republic, providing a fast response on Made-to-Order (MTO) colors from 50-1000 kg.

On officially cutting the ribbon to the new production facility, Sanal Limoncuoğlu, Powder Coatings Business Director for South East Europe, commented “Up until now, we have been servicing our customers with Made-To-Order colors with a fast service of 7 days from manufacturing sites in the UK, France and, more recently, Italy. The new manufacturing plant in Opava will not only allow us to better serve customers across Europe, but also enable faster color deliveries in Germany and the Nordics, where our markets are still growing considerably.

“By investing in a disused building on the existing Opava site, we have created a new manufacturing facility allowing us to produce around 250 tons/year small batch colors initially, with a possibility to grow to 700 tons/year with shifts and additional equipment.”

Sanal further commented; “We are committed to providing the best service possible to our customers, and this investment enables us to respond quickly to urgent MTO color requirements, thereby fulfilling our customer’s needs”.
