Your one-stop global shop

Picture the stress of moving house: new carpets, new curtains new light fittings…a hundred different things, a hundred different shops.  Imagine if one person could sort it for you?  Step up Global Solutions!

Global Solutions (GS) aims to solve all your paint problems, anywhere in the world, through just one contact – whether you need interior decorative paint, powder coating for window frames, protective paints for structural steel or liquid paint for aliminium extrusions or, frequently, all four.

We’re here to make life easier for customers.  Often we’re dealing with architects and specifiers where paint may not be there speciality, and they may not realize that AkzoNobel supplies not only a vast range but across the globe.  We have a unique capacity to supply almost any paint, almost anywhere in the world.

GS are working with restaurant group, McDonald’s, to provide the ‘new look’ for their European restaurants.  The project demands powder coatings for the furnishings, decorative paints for the walls and liquid paints for the fascias.  We set up the complete specification, with color guidelines by country and by languge.

GS draws on the combined expertise of the Group’s individual Business Units and then ensures the smooth handling of a customer’s order through the appropriate Units, wherever they’re supplied in the world, but also that they meet the necessary local standards.

GS have worked with customers as varied as shell (for their worldwide gas stations) and Starbucks (refurbishing their European coffee shops) and have started a five-year project with American-based recruitment agency, Manpower, to remodel their 3,500 offices in over 80 countries.  They have a very specific style and design, and sustainability requirements.  We’ve put together specifications for each region that will ensure the color, quality and sustainability are consistent wherever their offices are.

Increasingly, the team is looking to help customers with major construction projects.  Working with colleagues in Brazil, for example, GS provided tools that helped AkzoNobel secure the paint contract for one of the 2014 World Cup stadia.
