Interpon Powder Coatings have been specified on a unique chair design from furniture designers naughtone.
Based in Leeds, naughtone create stylish unique furniture for a range of end uses including the Royal Albert Hall, London and television series Big Brother.
One of naughtone’s latest designs is the reg chair designed by Stefan Bench.
Available in outdoor, semi-outdoor, upholstered and barstool options, the chairs are made of mild steel powder coated in a range of colours using an AkzoNobel anti-corrosion coating system. This two layer system consists of a barrier protective primer Interpon BPP330 overcoated with a polyester topcoat Interpon 610. This method has been specially formulated to give enhanced corrosion protection.

naughtone used Service First Associate Specialised Coatings in Halifax to undertake the powder coating work and were very pleased with the results. Kieron Bakewell, Design Director of naughtone explains: “It’s great that we can supply a beautifully engineered product like the reg chair for use outdoors without having to go to the expense of stainless steel. The paint system also allows us the flexibility of a whole range of colours.”
