AkzoNobel Interpon® Architectural Powder Coatings for Aluminum
AkzoNobel's Interpon D Range is a complete offering of premium grade architectural powder coatings. With over 30 years global track record, Interpon D Range powder coatings can provide coating solutions for all performance demands and environments. The range encompasses three series of products which are available worldwide.
Interpon D Range products are available in a wide range of standard shades, gloss levels, special finishes, and metallic effects. Many are held in stock, and other colors or finishes can be made to order. With products to meet all major architectural specification standards, including European Qualicoat, GSB, American Architectural Manufacturers Association (AAMA), Australian Standard, British Standard, South African National Standards and Chinese GB specifications, the architect has complete design flexibility for domestic and international projects. All products are backed by global guarantees.
Powder coatings represent a superior coating technology in relation to sustainable design principles. This environmentally friendly material and process provides no solvent emissions in either the application process or at the time of aluminum substrate recycling. It's markedly increased durability over liquid applied coatings provides longer life and therefore more favorable LCA terms. The very limited quantities of powder waste generated in the production process are reclaimable, a superior characteristic to liquid applied coatings that generate significant quantities of chemical waste.
Interpon D3000 Fluoromax® is the first product in a new generation of Hyper Durable architectural powder coatings. Based on AkzoNobel’s Fluoromax technology, Interpon D3000 uses innovative fluorocarbon polymer chemistry to provide the ultimate in exterior durability. The Fluoromax technology has been assessed against the most severe testing requirements including 10 year real-time exposure in Florida. By complying with AAMA 2605, Interpon D3000 products offer a powder alternative to high performance liquid coatings such as fluorocarbons (PVDF or PVF2).
Interpon D2000 Super Polyester Series encompasses a range of products, based on AkzoNobel polymer technology, which have been proven to give outstanding exterior durability on buildings around the world. Interpon D2000 Series products have more than 10 years' track record on thousands of buildings. Offering significantly improved gloss retention and resistance to chalking and fading compared to traditional polyester powder coatings, D2000 Series products ensure long term cosmetic and functional protection on buildings, even in the most demanding environments. All products in the Interpon D2000 series are approved either to AAMA 2604 or Qualicoat Class 2. Available in a comprehensive selection of colors, effects, and gloss levels, Interpon D2000 Series can be color-matched to order, subject to technical approval of the shade required.
Interpon D1000 Series standard durability architectural polyester powder coatings are recommended for use in normal weathering environments or interior applications. First used in 1972, Interpon D1000 Series products have track record on buildings all around the world. All products are based on the same proven AkzoNobel polymer technology, adapted when required for regional requirements. When specifying Interpon D1000 Series the architect can be confident of receiving the same quality of product anywhere in the world and tailored to meet the local needs or specifications. Available in a wide range of European RAL and US NCS color system colors, metallic effects, or custom colors, Interpon D1000 Series can be supplied in a range of gloss levels. Stock ranges ensure fast service, and special color collections such as Collection Futura and Collection Anodic provide exciting design flexibility.
