Resicoat EL Powder for Various Applications

First developments of Resicoat powders for Electrical Insulation date back to the late 1960′s. Since this time we have continuously improved and developed powder coatings for new application ranges.

The Resicoat EL series contains epoxy powder coatings for the insulation of lamination stacks used in small motors, and for metal bars used in electrical distribution systems as well as for the insulation of small components such as capacitors and magnetic cores.

HV Connectors

Resicoat for High Voltage (HV) connector systems are used as insulation for busbars, tags, connecting lugs of battery cases and battery groups. Different grades are available for the application by electrostatic spray on cold or hot parts or by fluidized bed. The coatings are typically rated 130° C (Class B) and meet UL 94 V-0.

Hairpin

Our Resicoat solution for the insulation of welded hairpins are single layer, 100 % solid epoxy coatings. Designed for fluidized bed application, with UL 1446 Class F / Class H recognition, the coating provides good resistance against heat, chemicals and moisture.

EV/EHV Cooling Plates

Our specific Resicoat grades support the function of the cooling plate to remove heat, allow uniform operating temperature and maintain battery performance for a long lifetime. The coatings protect and enhance the cooling plate to support the cost management, performance and longevity of EVs and HEVs.

Typically rated for service temperature up to 130° C (266° F), Class B per UL 746B, and meeting flame retardancy of UL 94 V-0, Resicoat Powder Coating can be trusted for safe, consistent performance throughout the vehicle lifetime. Grade are available for fluidized bed or electrostatic spray application and powder can be applied on hot or cold parts.

Busbars

A busbar is a metal conductor forming a common junction between two or more electrical circuits.

The Resicoat range for busbar powders offers coatings for both fluidised bed and electrostatic spraying application. Many grades of our powders for insulation of bus bars meet UL 94 (V-0).

Electric Components

Electronic components like capacitors, resistors and hybrids are used in electrical devices that operate by controlling the flow of electrons or other electrically charged particles in devices such as thermionic valves and semiconductors.

Resicoat epoxy powders are lasermarkable, depending on the product and meet UL 94 (V-0). electronic components are coated in a fluidized bed.

Field Coils

A field coil (also known as bobbin or magnetic coil) is generating a magnetic field in an alternator by a current flow. Bobbins are coated in a fluidized bed.

Toroid Rings

Toroid rings are components in electronics used in high-frequency coils and transformers. The powder coated toroid ring consist of a circular ring-shaped magnetic core around which wire is coiled. Resicoat epoxy powders for toroids usually meet UL 94 (V-0). Toroid rings are coated in a fluidized bed or by electrostatic powder spraying.

Rotors

A rotor is a rotating part of an electric drive. Turning the rotor in the stator assembley causes electricity to be produced.
Rotors are used for generators, anti lock break systems, wiper motors, window lift motors electrical seat balances, cooling engines.

Resicoat powders for rotors meet IEC 455 and are rated class F (155° C) or class H (180° C) acc UL 1446 (system approval).

Rotors are coated in an electrostatically assisted fluidized bed or by electrostatic powder spray.

Stators

A stator is the stationary part of a electric generator or an electric drive. Resicoat powders for stators meet IEC 455 and are rated class F (155° F) or class H (180° C) acc. UL 1446 (system approval). Stators are coated in an electrostatically assisted fluidized bed by fluidized bed or by spray application to pre-heated objects.
