This office building in Hong Kong's central business discrict, has two distinct personas. During the day, its subtle, tilted and tapering shape is a perfect silhouette of a Chinese junk in full sail. By night, it throws of the work clothes to fizz and glow like a chinese lantern. The building has worked hard to reduce its environmental impact, the structural steel is recyclable, windows have low-e reflective coatings to maximise heat insulation and solar roof panels suppliment hot water needs. This building is a clever twist on the classic glass box.
