AkzoNobel has named Soulful Sage™ as Interpon's 2027 Color of the Year, reflecting the growing influence of softer, nature-inspired color palettes and natural materials in contemporary architecture. 

Available in the Interpon D2525 range of superdurable powder coatings, Soulful Sage™ is a refined soft green with subtle grey undertones that brings warmth and understated character to facades, windows, doors, furniture and a wide range of powder-coated products. Balancing contemporary expression with enduring appeal, it offers architects, designers and specifiers a versatile color that complements today's architectural language while remaining relevant for years to come. 

More than a single color, Soulful Sage™ is the centrepiece of a carefully curated palette of nine complementary creams, greys and blues. Together, they open up new possibilities for bringing color, material and form together—whether creating quiet harmony or bold architectural contrast. Designed to work effortlessly across powder-coated applications, the palette enables architects and designers to create distinctive visual identities while complementing materials such as aluminium, steel, timber, stone and concrete. 

Developed by AkzoNobel's Global Aesthetics Center, the 2027 Color of the Year draws on more than 30 years of color research, global trend analysis and collaboration with color experts, architects and designers. The result is a forward-looking color palette that helps architects and specifiers make confident color decisions for projects designed to endure.

As part of the Interpon D2525 portfolio, Soulful Sage™ combines contemporary aesthetics with outstanding weatherability, color retention and superdurability, helping preserve the original design intent while reducing maintenance requirements throughout the life of the building or product. 

All colors in the 2027 palette are available with warranties of up to 25 years  when applied by an Interpon D Approved Applicator. The Interpon D range is supported by an independently verified Environmental Product Declaration (EPD) and meets Qualicoat Class 2 and GSB Master certifications, as well as the performance requirements of AAMA 2604, giving specifiers confidence in both sustainability credentials and long-term performance.
