Metallic look building coated with low cure powder coating

Interpon D Low-E

The low energy high performing powder coating for architects and specifiers

For those looking to reduce their energy consumption on their sustainability journey towards a net zero carbon future comes standard durable Interpon D1036 Low-E and superdurable Interpon D2525 Low-E, low energy (Low-E) powder coatings that achieve an industry first in being able to cure at temperatures as low as 150°C while still being Qualicoat Class 1 or 2 certified.

Interpon D Low-E supports an architect or specifier’s sustainability goals in one of two ways: either curing at a lower temperature (30°C lower than ‘traditional’ powder coatings) or at a faster line speed. In both cases, the product is helping to reduce the total energy consumed, lowering carbon emissions, and enhancing production line efficiencies while still delivering the optimum level of performance.

Innovated by AkzoNobel, the new range is suited to a wide range of environments in the built industry. While the Interpon D1036 Low-E can be used internally and externally, the Interpon D2525 Low-E is particularly designed to protect external surfaces, from building facades to windows and doors, in more demanding locations and environments.

At a time when every business is looking to play its part in reducing energy and accelerating sustainability, Interpon D Low-E not only supports architects and applicators in reducing their own carbon emissions to meet a shared ambition, but also AkzoNobel’s target of a 50% carbon reduction across the value chain.

Leading benefits

  • Lower curing temperature - A lower curing temperature results in significantly less energy being consumed which therefore has a lower impact on the environment, supporting a company’s drive towards net zero carbon emissions.
  • Reduced curing time - A faster curing time, even at a standard curing temperature, increases line productivity and creates greater efficiencies while delivering lower cost as well as a lower impact on the environment.
  • Easy application - Interpon D Low-E is easy to apply and provides excellent edge coverage, which in turn means more right-first-time results requiring less re-working and near zero rejection rates.
