Signature Interpon D Collections with bio-attributed resins

Selected Interpon D architectural powder coating collections produced in Europe are now formulated using bio-attributed resins. 

Together with use of supplier specific product carbon footprint (PCF) data, this helps to achieve up to 40% lower product carbon footprint compared with the previously calculated footprint based on generic polyester resin industry averages, while maintaining the same durability, performance and appearance which professionals expect from Interpon D.

Bio-attributed resins leverage the mass balance approach to substitute fossil-based feedstocks with renewable bio-based alternative raw materials in resin production. With a certified mass balance approach, inclusion of bio-based content from renewable sources through supply chain is traced.

For architects, specifiers and applicators, this means lower carbon footprint coating options without changing the finish quality, warranties or application properties already associated with Interpon D architectural collections.

Calculated using verified supplier-specific product carbon footprint data of polyester resins compared with the former footprint calculation based on generic industry averages for polyester resins.

Third-party certified methodology

The product carbon footprint methodology is independently certified according to TfS guidelines V3 and ISO 14067.
